- Wood has natural anti-bacterial properties, so germs don’t stick around as much as they may on toys made of plastic, rubber, or other materials. You don’t need to clean them everyday, but giving them a refresher every couple of weeks or even just once a month will help keep them in good condition.
- Use a gentle cleanser on wooden toys. Anything from a simple vinegar and water solution (1 part vinegar to 10 parts water), a mild, environmentally friendly dish soap, and some warm water, or your favorite non-toxic multi-purpose cleaner, diluted with water, will work well.
- Gently wipe down with a sponge or washcloth and a bit of warm water, then allow the toys to air dry.
- To remove stain use more concentrated mixture vinegar and water, scrub with sponge . Dry under sun help to bleach out the stain or use sand paper to buff it out.
- To moisturize wooden toys, use non-toxic Mineral oil, olive oil or beeswax polish.
